CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - The Great New England Air show will be flying over Westover Air Reserve Base this weekend.
This is Westover's first air show in four years, and it's expected to be bigger and better than ever. This year's theme is theme is a " Salute to the greatest generation". It will include:
The air show will be taking place both Saturday, August 4th and Sunday, August 5th.
However, attendance is expected to be high. At least 125,000 visitors are expected each day. Therefore, give yourself enough time to get there early. Traffic is expected to be heavy this weekend on the Massachusetts Turnpike. There are electronic signs however on the turnpike warning drivers of any delays. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation says they'll make sure to update these signs for drivers throughout the weekend to keep traffic moving between exits 5, 6, and 7.
The weather expected to be warm, so make sure to keep hydrated, bring a hat. and wear suntan lotion. The air base will provide water and misting stations for the public.
