CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - There was an additional point of pride for the 22 News marchers during today's Holyoke St. Patrick's parade.
It was on St. Patrick's day, March 17th, 1953 when 22 News first went on the air.
The crowd wished 22 News a happy birthday to the red and green clad marchers, many of them familiar visitors to your homes every day.
We at 22 News are proud an delighted at the milestone the TV station has reached.
Veteran viewers at today's parade were eager to share their feelings about the special relationship they've enjoyed through the years with the people at 22 News.
Dan Okraska, of Springfield, had kinds words to say about the station "It's a great station, I love the station, It's the only one I watch and I like everybody on it, I like everything that goes on."
"You can always count on the news, I've been watching for nearly sixty years" says Springfield resident, Ellen Kearney.
22 News appreciates these warm and supportive sentiments. We promise to continue working for you for at least another 60 years.
