SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) -  A third proposal to build a casino in Springfield has been unveiled.

Penn National Gaming on Thursday announced plans for $807 million resort casino and hotel project in partnership with Peter Picknelly, who heads the Springfield-based Peter Pan Bus Lines.

The proposal calls for a 300,000-square-foot-casino and a 500-room hotel on 13.4 acres of land in the city's North End, off Interstate 91.

The plan calls for relocating the offices of The Republican newspaper and building a new printing plant.

MGM International and Ameristar Casinos have previously unveiled casino plans for Springfield.

City officials have said they expect at least four developers to compete for the sole casino license in western Massachusetts.
