AGAWAM, Mass. (WWLP) - Springfield area organizations, with dogs they hope animal lovers will adopt, Saturday held a Adopt-A-Thon in Agawam.

Dave's Soda and Pet City played host to groups such as Dakin Pioneer Valley Humane Society .

Dogs looking for a good home didn't have far to look to find families eager to adopt.

The Adopt-A-Thon just seemed like a good idea.

Cindy Degray says, “We thought it would be absolutely great to have an event where all the shelters came together under one roof one spot, and tried to find homes for all these animal. “

While we don't have the official dog adoption figures, you've got to assume some of these animal lovers went home with a new pet.
