SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Astronaut and Shelburne resident Cady Coleman talked to a group of Springfield and Holyoke school students live from the International Space Station on Tuesday morning.
Coleman, who is orbiting the earth in the Space Station, answered questions posed by 26 students from Springfield’s STEM Middle Academy and the Lt. Elmer McMahon and Dr. Macrella R. Kelly Schools in Holyoke.
The students, who enjoyed the long distance question and answer session, told 22News that it was an experience they will never forget.
“It was really amazing and I was excited. She's so far away, she actually answered by questions,” Holyoke 7th grader Ana Diaz said.
“I was kind of happy that I got that opportunity, and it's a once in a lifetime,” Springfield 6th grader Jhelelle Bryan said.
“It's such an experience. It's so exciting, it's probably the best feeling I've had in years,” said Springfield 8th grader Victor Figueroa.
The discussion streamed live here on WWLP.com and also aired on our daily lifestyle program, Mass Appeal.
