SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - It could be weeks before the first Springfield area frost puts an end to the mosquito problems.
So far temperatures have gone no lower than the upper 30s to low 40s.
Normally the first hard freeze doesn't occur in greater Springfield until the middle of October.
Northampton and Greenfield get theirs slightly earlier in the month.
But the hard freeze in the Berkshires could come as early as the coming week.
People told 22News, they don't see signs of autumn the same way.
Thomas Liquori says, “Now we know fall's coming so, the leaves are changing colors and it's beautiful here in forest park. “
The autumn season is still young, but the unmistakable first signs of fall are already upon us.
