SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Men and women in pink boosted Cancer awareness in Springfield's Mason Square neighborhood Saturday.
They rallied at the neighborhood Farmer's Market.
Mason Square has a task force devoted to getting across the message of caring for the health of neighborhood people.
Wanda Givens says, "Most people may not know but breast cancer, women of color are inexorably affected by breast cancer. Mostly because we don't get tested early enough. So this is to bring awareness to our community and the entire greater Springfield community. "
Pink ribbons symbolizing their cause now adorn the neighborhood.
