SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Part of busy Parker Street had to be closed during the morning hours after a car hit a telephone pole in the area.

The pole is still standing and no power lines are down, but the crash did do some damage to the pole itself.

Springfield Police told 22News that four people were in the car at the time.

Two ran away and two have been taken to the hospital.

Police say they found drugs in the car and expect to charge the four people with a crime.
