WARE, Mass. (WWLP) - A fire at an apartment complex in Ware left three people temporarily homeless, and put one woman in the hospital.

It started just after 10:30 Sunday morning at 26 Highland Village.

Deputy Fire Chief Edward Wloch told 22News, a woman forgot to put out her cigarette.

It started a fire which caused the woman's home oxygen tank to explode.

That woman was taken to Mary Lane Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Paul Lavalley says, "I seen this big white flash, and two seconds later, every house, every window in the house was rattling and the doors were rattling and then I seen the big flames."

A couple in a neighboring apartment is spending the night with friends.

Deputy Chief Wloch said the apartment where the fire started will have to be completely rebuilt.
