SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Valentine's Day is a special day at Dakin Humane Society in Springfield.

It's their annual celebration to highlight the benefits of having a rabbit as a companion pet.

They call the event "Love Some Bunny."

It's an opportunity to have people learn about having indoor rabbits as pets and their unique handling and care requirements.

But they do provide good company for their humans.

Candy Lash told 22News, "They're very interactive with their family members.  Lots of people like to have their bunny cuddle with them on the couch and watch television at night.  They can be litter box trained.  They typically get along very well with cats and dogs."

As you can see, the bunnies come in a variety of colors, and are all vet-checked, spayed and neutered before you adopt them and bring them home.

Lash also said if you can't decide between adopting a cat or a dog, may you want a bunny.
