At least four killed in tornado

WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Four people have died and dozens of people have been injured in the aftermath of a strong storms that caused at least one tornado that touched down in Westfield, West Springfield, and Springfield.

Governor Deval Patrick told the Associated Press that one person was killed in West Springfield, two in Westfield, and one in Brimfield.

West Springfield Police Captain O'Brien told 22News that a man who was travelling in his car down Main Street in West Springfield had a tree fell on top of it during the storm, killing him.

Jane Albert of Baystate Medical Center told 22News that the hospital is caring for 25 people who are injured, 10 of whom are in the trauma unit.

According to Mary Orr of Mercy Medical Center, 23 people have been taken to their hospital so far in the aftermath of the storm. None of the people taken to Mercy have potentially deadly injuries, Orr said.

A retired priest living in the St. Michael's Residence for retired priests was injured, according to Dupont. The other priests in residence have been evacuated.
