CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - More than 600 children and teens in Massachusetts are waiting to be adopted. If you are interesting in adopting a child, there are two events coming up on October 13 and November 6 aimed at providing you with more information.
Maurine Albano, the Western Massachusetts Coordinator for Adoption Exchange came to 22News on Wednesday morning to explain more about the two events.
The first is an “Adoption Pre-Party,” where prospective adoptive parents can learn about the process from social workers and experienced adoptive parents. That is being held October 13, from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Providence Behavioral Health on Main Street in Holyoke.
The second event is the actual adoption party, which will be on November 6 at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Westfield on West Silver Street. It begins with a family orientation at 1:00 P.M., with the children arriving at 1:30.
If you would like to participate in either event, you can RSVP by going to the website of the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange.
