SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - After two weeks of nearly perfect weather, fair goers at the Big E were forced to trade their t-shirts for ponchos.

But the rain didn't stop these people from enjoying all that New England's great state fair has to offer.

Hal West from Preston Connecticut told 22News, the rain helps clear out the crowds from some of the fair's most popular attractions. “A bad rainy day at the big e is still better than a good day at work. ”

More than one million people have visited the Big E since its gates opened on September 14th.

The Big E wraps up its 2012 season this Sunday.
