BELCHERTOWN, Mass. (WWLP) - Three years ago Jessica Martins died at the age of 19.
It was then her mother, family and friends began raising money for construction of a boundless playground across from the Belchertown police station.
Sunday's Western Massachusetts poker run is expected to add considerably to the $100,000 team Jessica has already raised.
Jessica's mother Vicky Marthins-Auffrey, told 22News, the four hundred thousand dollar goal seems more possible than ever. “Jessica lived a beautiful life, and we were always doing fundraisers like this and It's going to be beautiful when it's done. We're very touched that you came out and supported us. “
She pointed out the boundless park would also play a part in the lives of disabled grown ups and or Veterans who've lost limbs or the use of limbs defending their country.
She said that with each fundraising event, team Jessica moves closer to grand opening of Jessica's boundless playground in the foreseeable future.
