SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Yolanda Garcia and her family had heard that hundreds of Tornado victims still need furniture to replace theirs destroyed by the tornado. That is why she donated to the Salvation Army.
“I feel like I did something that's a blessing. And I’m happy to help someone out,” Garcia said.
Garcia’s son, Nelson Resto says that this sort of generosity is valued by his family. “We've been a really big family for giving back, we will help everyone out like my Mom said, pay it forward, help do good,”
The Salvation Army's Jarrid Kendall has made hundreds of pick-ups for donations like the Garcia family’s. Kendall told 22News, it gives him a special feeling each time. “It's great to see the community coming together in such a needy time, and everyone comes together to make it easier for the people who were effected by the storm,” Kendall said.
