Free tax prep for a blood donation

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Give a pint, get a refund. To help replenish the blood supply in the area, Liberty Tax Service is teaming up with the American Red Cross.

Throughout the month of March, if you donate blood at a drive anywhere in Western Massachusetts or in Enfield, Connecticut, you will receive a coupon for free tax preparation and filing at any local Liberty Tax branch.

"We had an experience with our particular store where we lost a manager and he had five blood transfusions, so it really hit home for us,” Ray Maggero of Liberty Tax Service said, “We thought there's a lot of people it impacts, so if we can get the word out and help the cause, it's something we wanted to be involved with.”

If you already got your taxes done and you want to donate blood, they will give you a coupon for next year's tax preps.
