SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - More than 200 high school and college students were looking to get a leg up on the competition.

MassMutual hosted its annual internship fair for the summer.

The life insurance company is hiring students for its IT Academy this summer.

They are paid internships. A few of these students have already taken part in MassMutual internships.

They told 22News it helps them focus on career goals.

Aliesha Patterson says, “College students are graduating and cannot find a job, but coming here you are able to network and bond and make those relationships that will help you out later on in life. “

MassMutual will hire 43 paid interns for this program.

The company has already hired some former interns to full time positions.
