SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Springfield's Health and Human Services Department held one of the last of its neighborhood flu shot clinic.
Only a few people came to get their free flu shot at the Holy Name Church recreation hall in the Forest Park neighborhood.
The City's Health Agency's Deputy Director told 22News it seems many people are just too busy during the holiday season to take time out of their day to get their flu shot.
Betty Anderson says, “We're trying to do flu clinic during this time to catch those folks distracted with all kinds of activities, and kind of forget they need to protect themselves. “
But it's during this hectic season she said, when people are more susceptible to the flu because we're in the midst of so much social activity.
Flu shots will still be available every day at the Health Department Clinic at 93 State Street in downtown Springfield.
