CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - Buying lottery tickets online with a credit card could become reality here in Massachusetts.

A new national poll says allowing Internet lottery could be a slippery slope.

The poll found that 84% of Americans are against Internet lottery because they think it'll lead to underage gambling.

People here in western Mass. told 22News they think it could also lead to more debt problems.

Joe Lander says, “I don't have any negative feelings about it, but there are too many people today, including our government that are in large debt, and they can't be responsible.

State Treasurer Steven Grossman said Internet gaming is going to be a "fact of life."

So he wants to explore the Internet lottery option before the State Lottery loses profits to other online games.
