SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A fire at an Industrial building created a lot of smoke in the area around Stevens Street.

Dennis Leger Aide to the Fire commissioner told 22News the fire started inside the Joseph Freedman Industrial building.

It sparked during a process where the company uses metal chips.

The fire was difficult to fight because they had to use chemicals not water to put it out.

Leger said neighbors shouldn't be concerned; the smoke shouldn't pose any health concerns.
