SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Chris Boyles drove up from his hometown of Lusby, Maryland to reclaim 8 year old Otto from the Dakin Pioneer Valley Humane Society in Springfield.

He and his wife had made a gift of Otto to their daughter in Easthampton around the time of Super Storm Sandy.

Chris told 22News, “They left it in their garage, and when they let it out, it just ran away.”

Someone in Southampton found Otto just a few days ago and took the cat to Dakin.

They checked the name on the micro-chip and contacted the Boyles in Maryland, who returned home with Otto.

Candy Lash told 22News, when an animal's micro-chipped, the reunion rate is almost 100 percent.
