Mild weather brings fishermen to the ice

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) - The Ox Bow in Northampton is where you'll find fishermen grateful for the ice that's accumulated so far this season.

They were happy about the cold spell that deepened the ice beneath their feet.

Compared with mild weather causing last winter's thin ice, this is ice fishing heaven.

Gene Gauthier says, “It's a beautiful day last year we had some bad weather, there wasn't a lot of ice. Today we decided to venture out. “

These fishermen would rather not think about next week's warm spell.

They'd rather enjoy the OX Bow in its entire ice covered splendor.
