More Dixie Dogs arrive in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - More Dixie Dogs arrived Saturday at the Pioneer Valley Dakin Humane Society in Springfield.

The dogs from Montgomery County Texas wasted no time feeling right at home here in Western Massachusetts.

The Humane Society's Candy Lash told 22News, the new arrivals have a much better chance to be adopted here in the Pioneer Valley. “All of them have been sheltered down there. And because there are so many, their opportunities for adoption were very limited. “

These Dixie Dogs will be put up for adoption the day after Christmas.

The dozens of other Dixie Dogs that arrived in Springfield during the past year have all been adopted.
