SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - We now know the name of the person who was killed in a shooting in Springfield.

Springfield Lieutenant Rupert Daniel told 22News 19 year old Dwayne Kelly was the victim who was shot just before 6:00 Friday night, near 176 Eastern Ave in the city's old hill neighborhood.

22News spoke to Kelly's mother one-on-one who said she's still cannot believe her son is gone.

Karen Smith told 22News “He didn't deserve it. This hasn't really hit me yet, it's like a dream, like he's going to wake up.”

No arrests have been made.

This is the city's 10th murder this year and second this week.
