SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The D-League could benefit from the NBA lockout: The Springfield Armor hope so.

The Armor announced their new head coach on Wednesday. Bob MacKinnon, Jr. He won a D-League title in 2009. MacKinnon believes the talent level this year will be outstanding.

"This is a great year to be in the D-League, because once the lockout is over, I think teams are going to need players and need them readily available and in shape. That's what the D-League is going to provide,” McKinnon said.

MacKinnon replaces Dee Brown. Brown won 20 games and lost 80 as the coach of the Armor. The Detroit Pistons reportedly hired Dee as an assistant coach. The Armor begin their season on the day after Thanksgiving.
