SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A local non-profit agency is celebrating its new and improved headquarters.
The Springfield Partners for Community Action has been serving the cities neediest since 1964. Until recently, their services were split among three separate locations.
Now all of the non-profit's services, including child care, credit counseling, and fuel assistance, can be accessed under one roof, at 721 State Street.
The agency director tells 22News the move comes at a time when more and more people are seeking help.
"We used to have a food program here and you would start seeing people coming dressed in shirts and ties, not to say they're any different than anyone else, but it just shows you people's needs and how tough things are. We've had a huge increase in clients for all of our services," said Paul Bailey, Executive Director, SPCA.
The move will save the agency roughly forty-thousand dollars in rent and other fees.
