SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Springfield Public Schools will begin investigating the death of a Kiley Middle School student when classes resume next Monday.

School Spokeswoman Azelle Cavaan told 22News, the district will interview everyone who was at the school pool when a 12-year-old boy drowned Friday.

Cavaan said the district will try to find out exactly what happened in that physical education class no matter how long it takes.

Police are no longer investigating this case because it is not a homicide.

A crisis counseling line is available to students and families.

That number is 413-733-6661
