Serious accident in E. Longmeadow

EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) - Route 186, also known as Prospect Street is back open in East Longmeadow after a serious car accident.

Route 186 was re-opened early Thursday morning after being closed down for more than four hours heading South toward Connecticut.

What we know right now is that a car hit a tree and one person was taken to an area hospital.

The accident happened around 8 p.m. Wednesday.

State Police and the East Longmeadow Police Department are investigating.
