SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The largest fair in the northeast is a popular destination for many of you at home and also for many candidates on the campaign trail.

We caught up with Senator Scott Brown Sunday afternoon.

He was meeting voters and of course enjoying a cream puff at the Big E.

Brown told 22News how he maintains his campaign without being linked too closely with the Republican Party or the presidential election. “Voting as you know, I'm the second most bipartisan senator in the US Senate. I was recently named the least partisan person in the entire Congress, so I'm going to rely on my strong record of independence. “

The race between Brown and his Democratic challenger Elizabeth Warren has garnered national attention as a key contest for both parties as they fight for control of the U.S. Senate.
