SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - "Turkey and all the fixings" was the plat du jour on many tables Thursday, but not everyone went the traditional route.
Debbie Wong's of West Springfield had a steady flow of customers enjoying Chinese food instead.
Diners enjoyed some Thanksgiving decorations and low-key ambiance without the hassle of doing their own dishes after cooking!
22News spoke with one table of young Jehovah's Witnesses from Connecticut and Massachusetts. Even though they don't formally observe holidays, they explained why tonight's dinner was a special shared experience.
“ We're thankful every day. We're Jehovah's Witnesses and we're thankful for every day that we live for our family and for God.This is a very nice place, very family-oriented, they have really good food here too, and it's the only place open on this night," said Ashdon Martin of East Granby, Connecticut.
Debbie Wong's stays open 365 days a year.
