SOUTHWICK, Mass. (WWLP) - Southwick is hosting the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship Saturday.
An estimated 15,000 people will be heading to the tracks to watch the event.
It's been described as one of the most sacred and roughest tracks in America, and is highly anticipated in the motocross community.
Davey Coombs says, “Motocross, we're all kind of in a tribe. Where we like to travel around from state to state, you'll see people here from the mid Atlantic region from Ohio from New York, you might even get some people flying in from the west coast just to watch it.”
There will be traffic in the area this weekend.
Southwick police expect high volume of people on route 10 and 202 and the feeding hills portion of 57 and powder hill road.
Peak traffic time will be from 9am until noon and from 4pm until 7pm.
