SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Speeding drivers are making one street in Springfield’s Pine Point neighborhood a Mean Street.
Jasper Street connects Bay Street and Berkshire Avenue. Many drivers use it as a shortcut, speeding to save time.
Jasper Street resident Yamilette Otero has complained to the city. Police monitor the area occasionally, but she says they need to do more.
"It's a big problem, so we want something done. At least speed bumps or signs; anything that will help us with this situation before something really bad happens," Otero said.
Otero told 22News that she has witnessed many accidents in the six years she has lived there, including her own parked car being hit.
