Springfield announces Ubora award winner

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A prestigious honor in Springfield's African American community. 

The 21st annual Ubora Award for excellence went to City Councilor E. Henry Twiggs.

The award is given to an African American who has made a significant contribution to the greater Springfield area.

E. Henry Twiggs says, "I am particularly elated at receiving the Ubora Award because it is a very significant award because it recognizes you for the work that you have done in your community"

Dana Adrianna Lawes received the Ahadi Youth Award, for promise.
