SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The history of Springfield is now on showcase.

The FL Roberts-owned Sunoco gas station and convenience store at East Columbus Avenue and Longhill Street reopened Friday with a new theme celebrating Springfield firsts.

From the invention of basketball to Indian Motorcycles, and even the popular game Candyland are depicted on the walls of the store.

“My family has been in Springfield in business since 1920, so we know a little bit about the history of Springfield,” FL Roberts Company President Steven Roberts said.

FL Roberts has been in business for 91 years.
