Survival meeting in East Longmeadow

EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) - A new group wants to teach people the basics of survival preparedness.

After 2011 when Western Massachusetts was hit by tornadoes, a Tropical Storm , and October snowstorm , Bryan Doe wants to help people be prepared.

At a meeting in East Longmeadow Monday, he taught people what supplies they should have ready at all times.

Bryan Doe says, The thing I've heard from a lot of people when I ask them about preparedness and do you have a 72 hour kit, do you have the minimum amount of food, water in case something was to happen, the answer I hear most of the time is no.

Doe said the June 1st tornado sparked his interest in helping others.

The group plans to have meetings every month.
