SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The Teachers Union in Springfield has been without a contract for almost half a year.
Thursday night they demonstrated at the school committee meeting their concern.
The room overflowed with teachers expressing their concern for a fair contract.
They say without that, they can't keep hard-working, quality teachers in the district.
Tim Collins told 22News, “The loss of dedicated hard-working teachers to surrounding communities that are treating their teachers with respect and quality benefits and better salaries. “
Collins also said he is hopeful that they will be able to come to an agreement that will attract and retain quality Springfield teachers.
