NEW YORK (WWLP) - Freddy Geas of West Springfield and Ty Geas of Westfield, as well as Arthur Nigro of New York were convicted of murder in a New York federal court Friday in the 2003 killing of reputed Springfield mob boss Adolfo “Big Al” Bruno.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Manhattan, the jury also found the three guilty on charges of violent crime in aid of racketeering, but the trio was acquitted of obstruction of justice in Bruno’s murder.
Bruno was shot to death outside the Mt. Carmel Society Social Club in Springfield’s South End in November of 2003.
Admitted trigger man Frankie Roche took a plea deal that spared him from receiving the death penalty.
