CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - 22News Toys for Tots donations don't slow down during the weekend.

Viewers like yourselves came calling on Saturday to help fill the 22News lobby with bikes and Toys as you have for so many years.

Parents used the occasion as a learning experience for their children.

"It's most important to give back. I'm proud of how she saved her money that she used the money that she saved up, We're pretty proud of her," said Erik Petersen of Westfield.

"I teach my son David that It's good thing to give back to the community kids that don't have presents for Christmas," said John Dunn of Chicopee.

22News and the U.S. Marines conduct the Toys for Tots drive every year.

It'll be the Marines who distribute what you donate to those needy children.

"These are kids who don't expect anything and when they get something they're very excited, I think it's a great feeling," said Sgt. Michael Pires of the U.S. Marine Corps.

And we encourage more people drop off a gift, toy or a bike on Sunday.

Our weekend staff we be here and you can drop it off in the 22News lobby.

As Marine Sgt. Michael Pires put it so well, your gift will make a needy child feel so excited.

The winners will be announced "live" on 22News at approximately 9:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 15th.
