SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - 16 years ago Springfield restaurant owner Joseph Rescia began serving Thanksgiving dinner to people down on their luck.
On Thursday, Rescia continued that tradition at his restaurant, "A Touch of Garlic". Clients from numerous social service agencies enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner courtesy of Rescia and his kitchen staff.
Rescia told 22News he receives more than he gives from helping people in need.
“Every year it gets your heart even more,” said Rescia. “It makes me feel great. We're lucky to have what we have. The kids are healthy, everyone's healthy.”
Rescia said he has no trouble lining up volunteers to help him serve dinner to the needy on Thanksgiving.
