SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A tractor trailer accident in Springfield caused traffic delays for most of the day Thursday Page Boulevard and Brookdale Drive.
Police Captain Cheryl Clapprood told 22News that a truck went off the road and hit a guardrail and fuel spilled from the truck.
Only one eastbound lane on Page Boulevard in the area was open. The westbound lanes were not affected.
Aide to the Springfield Fire Commissioner Dennis Leger told 22News the spill was a mix of diesel fuel and antifreeze.
According to Leger, some of the spill got into a storm drain as well as an underground electrical box.
Highway crews are also making repairs to the guardrail that was damaged in the accident.
