SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - One of three casino contenders in Springfield met with area residents Tuesday night.
Ameristar answered questions from Pine Point residents during their monthly Community Council meeting.
Many people asked about how the developer will make sure residents do not suffer from heavy traffic and other safety issues that may arise if a casino comes to Springfield.
“I think safety is always in the back of people's minds, so when a big company is coming to the community, I would like to see what their plan is, like private security plan,” Kimberly Dinoia said.
“I've been meeting with the police units now. We are just trying to figure out the best way to compliment our own security. There's going to be a component with State Police as well,” said Ameristar Director of Community Affairs Jonathan Little said.
The Pine Point Community Council will here from MGM next month.
