Area vigils held for shooting victims

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - As people cope with the tragedy in Newtown, area towns and churches hold prayer vigils for victims.

Easthampton – Saturday, 6:00pm - Children’s Memorial hospital, corner of Williston Ave. and West Lake St.

Chicopee – Saturday, 5:30pm - Ray Ash Park

West Springfield – Saturday, 5:00pm - First congregational Church, 20 Lathrup.

Agawam – Saturday, 7:15pm - School Street Park, off River Road.

Our Lady of the Cross Parish in Holyoke will offer special Holy Hours of Adoration for the victims and their families of Friday's school shooting in Connecticut.

The Holy Hours will occur after Saturday's 4pm liturgy and Sunday's 10:30am liturgy.
