Driver charged w/ vehicular homicide

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - One person is dead and another is under arrest after a crash in Holyoke early Friday morning.

Holyoke Police Lt. Jim Albert told 22New Michael Malloy, 23, of Holyoke has been charged with motor vehicle homicide while operating under the influence of liquor.

Lt. Albert says Malloy's car crashed into a pole near 962 Main Street around 1:30 Friday morning.

The 32-year old woman riding in the front seat was killed.  Police have not released her name.  A second woman was also injured but did not have to go to the hospital.
