Arrest made in Holyoke shooting

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - Holyoke police have arrested Luis Ortiz in connection to a shooting that happened just after 10:00PM Tuesday.

Lt. Matt Moriarty told 22News they got a call that a man was being chased by another man with a gun.

Police found a man with a gunshot wound to the leg at the corner of Cabot and South Bridge Street.

Moments later, police spotted Ortiz on a bicycle in an alley that runs parallel to South East Street. A gun was also found in the alley.

Ortiz was arrested and is facing drug and gun charges, as well as assault & battery with a dangerous weapon.

The man who was shot was taken to Baystate Medical Center and is expected to be okay.
