SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - 34-year-old Timothy Forbes has been arrested after allegedly attacking the coach of a winning team after a game at the Holy Name School in Springfield.

Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney told 22News that after the Migs won the game, Forbes became enraged and started a fight with the coach of the Migs team. That's when he allegedly bit the coach's ear

Sgt. John Delaney told 22News Forbes is an assistant coach for the Springfield Heat, the losing team. However the organization's president, John Maloney, told 22News that Forbes is not a coach, and is not on the team's roster.

Maloney said this situation was shocking for everyone in the organization.

"I think everyone who heard it couldn't believe it and it was certainly very devastating to the program to have something like this happen. We feel it hasn't happened before and we hope it will never happen again," Maloney said.

The Migs 34-year-old coach was rushed to the Baystate Medical Center's Emergency Room for medical treatment.

Shortly before noon on Monday Forbes turned himself into the Hampden County Hall of Justice at 50 State Street with his attorney. He was arraigned in Springfield District Court on charges of Mayhem, Assault and Battery, and Disorderly Conduct.

Spokesman for the Diocese of Springfield Mark Dupont says neither team was affiliated with the church or the school.
