SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Thieves robbed the Bank of America ATM on Cottage Street early Sunday morning.

Springfield Police Captain Cheryl Claprood told 22News, the thieves tore the surveillance camera off the ceiling.

They reportedly damaged electrical wires to access the ATM.

Captain Claprood said the thieves cleaned out the cash, but it's not clear how much money they stole.

Springfield police don’t know how many thieves were involved in the robbery at 2 o'clock Sunday morning.
