WESTFIELD, Mass (WWLP) - The 104th Fighter Wing at Barnes Air National Guard Base in Westfield will be conducting some early flights on Thursday, April 5th.

According to a new release sent to 22News from the 104th Fighter Wing at Barnes A.N.G. base, the F-15 aircraft are set to take-off as early as 6:00a.m.

Major Matthew Mutti told 22News the base wants to let people know about the early morning activity, and that they should not be alarmed.

"We understand the early morning operations are not consistent with our standard operations, but due to an operational commitment, we will be launching earlier than normal," said Mutti.

Due to security considerations, no further information is being made available.

The 104th Fighter Wing plays an instrumental roll in the nation's air defense efforts.
