Ben Swan wins 10th term in State House

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - State Rep. Ben Swan will approach two decades in the Massachusetts Legislature, as he has won a 10th term to represent the Springfield-based 11th Hampden District.

The Democrat defeated Independent Norman Oliver, who previously ran against Swan in 2006.

With 82% of the precincts reporting, Swan had 9,395 votes or 79% of the vote, to Oliver's 2,659 or 22% of the vote.

The 11th Hampden District includes the McKnight, Old Hill, Upper Hill, and Bay neighborhoods, as well as parts of Downtown, Pine Point, Forest Park, East Forest Park, and East Springfield.
