CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - The superintendent of Chicopee’s Water Department is warning residents to beware of people pretending to be water inspectors.

Superintendent Al Starzyk told 22News that they have received two recent reports of people passing themselves off as water department inspectors to residents of homes on Irene Street and Grattan Street.

He says that these people are not affiliated with the Water Department, and are just trying to get into your home.

Starzyk advises that you should ask for an inspector’s ID, or call the department at (413) 594-3420 if you are not sure about the person coming over.
