WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - What better place to get a large group of people's attention than the Big E ? That's why the state set up shop outside the Massachusetts Building so residents can register to vote on Election Day.
The deadline to register is October 17.
In order to vote, you have to be a US citizen and you must be 18 years of age or older on Election Day, which is November 6. There is a big push now to make sure that anyone who wants to vote can do so.
“It'll be very hard to avoid us from now until October 17, however, unfortunately people do and some people won't think about voting until the very end of October, and it might be too late for them to register, so we want people to get registered if they are interested,” said William Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth.
If you still need to register to vote, the booth will be set up on the East side of the Massachusetts building. You can do that from 10:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. on September 22, 23, 29 and 30.
